Eskimo trip to Horní Bečva

Eskimo trip to Horní Bečva

From 24. 2. 2016 to 26. 2. 2016 we went with children from low-threshold facility to three days spring trip. We spent trip in cottage called Barborka which is located in Horní Bečva.

The whole trip was inspired by the snow, ice and by life of Eskimos. During the trip children had the possibility to get to know and see the beauties of a nature in Horní Bečva. The children developed their fine motor and gross motor skill, graph motor skills, motion and memory skills, creativity and fantasy.

First day we informed children about the programme for the whole stay. We were divided into two Eskimo teams. Each team got a task to create a sack from a cloth, invent the name, chant and dance. Thanks to that two teams came into existence: „ Eskimo Bears“and „ Aurora“ . The members of the teams decorated their T-shirts according to colour of each team and they did not forget also for a symbol which characterized each team.

During the second day we experienced a big adventure. After breakfast we prepared other games, which helped us to give the children insight into live of real Eskimos. The first activity was catching of fish which were essential for Eskimos. The teams tried their patience and cooperation. Children developed skills of ground hunting when throwing paper balls to the target. The game named “Electricity“tested quick reactions and team cooperation of children.

After delicious lunch we went to hill „Martiňák“. During the trip we were „attacked“ by a group armed with snow balls. We dealt with it, of course. Then we visited mountain cottage and sights in Horní Bečva city center.

The day was finished by the games called: „ There is cold outside, you have to get dress an explorer“and „ Reindeer from plastic cap“. Then we watched the movie, quite unimaginable for Eskimos, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which is.

Last day we evaluated teams and we left the place and go back home full of enthusiasm and happiness.

The volunteer from Russia, Nastja, spent the whole trip with us and we were happy that she was there.
