Children's club

The mission of our club is to provide the information, assistance, support and strong background for young people who find themselves in a disadvantageous situation; strive for social integration and positive change in their lifestyle and coping with life during their childhood and adolescence.

 

The service seeks to ensure that children and young people from Village Coexistence and its surroundings could stay as long as they remain in the facility during its operating hours (and do not have to spend their free time doing nothing, socially pathological activities without the support of adults), and in order to maintain contacts with their peers. Children’s club provides a service to those children and young people who have no other choice (or see) how to spend their after-school recreation, particularly in the absence of "safe" place for leisure, for lack of funds of the poor family backgrounds, threat from the social environment (peers, adults).

 

The service aims

  • support for service users cope with difficult life events
  • improve social abilities and skills of service users
  • promote social inclusion of service users in the group of peers and in society, including participation in local community events
  • Improve the quality of life of users
  • prevent or reduce health risks associated with the life of service users
  • improve user orientation in their social environment

 

Members of the target group

are children and youth from the age 6 to 18 years old, live in Ostrava - Muglinov area, which covered mainly the following characteristics:

  • avoid the standard forms of institutionalized care and assistance
  • prefer unproductive leisure • prefer to spend their free time away from the family or other social groups
  • have clear-cut lifestyle, which is (or near) threatens
  •  do not come with a clear contract, do not want to incapably it or unwilling to define principles
  • Access to our facilities is limited by the financial possibilities of services, interest, or the arrival or departure time, users have the freedom of choice, both in the club movement in space, so the choice of activities performed.
  • We service so as to allow for maximum availability (trying to remove barriers that could impede the search for the target group of premises equipment or take advantage of the services).
  • To restrict user access to the service user is no reason for passivity or difference of opinion.
  • The user has the option to remain anonymous. Any document containing personal information is kept by the user's consent and the right to inspect it.
  • To use the service is not a condition of membership or other form of registration. Regular attendance at the facility is not the subject to the use of services, within hours of access devices; users can come and go at their discretion.
  • Opening hour’s service meets user needs.
  • The service can benefit anyone from the target group without limitation, if their behavior and conduct limited does not endanger themselves, other users, staff and service efficiency.
  • The services offered are not pushing or spread an ideology or religious beliefs or any involvement in the ritual. We guarantee the protection and safety of users of our equipment (protection against physical or psychological treatment).
  • Children’s club users may visit from the target group regardless of gender, nationality, religion, mother tongue, health and economic situation.
  • Service is provided for free.
  • The worker respect the users of social services as an equal partner with all its rights and obligations
  • Range of activities tailored to the needs of the target group.
  • The service is access to individual users and user rights are respected
  • Children’s club workers are sworn to secrecy, even after any termination of employment

 

Opening hours:

Monday – Friday

Small room „Amare cikhne čhave“(for children between 6 and 12 years) – 14:00 – 18:00

Hall "Amare čhave bare" (for children and young people between 10 and 18 years) - 15:00 - 18.00

 

The service is grounded in § 62 of Law no.108/2006. on social services and includes mainly the following activities:

Contact with the user, providing user-specific information (e.g. relating to schools, families, looking for summer jobs, relationships, risks, drug use, etc.), advise (solving current problems and the increasing competence of users to participate in their solution), solutions of crisis situation in the life of users, other brokerage services ( negotiating a follow-up services in the follow-up care facilities, physical accompaniment to such facilities and assistance in dealing in these establishments), contact with institutions for the benefit of users, work with close persons (advice provided by people close - parents, friends…).

And other implementation:

  • leisure activities on the premises of Children’s club, such as listening the music, drawing, views the movies, playing table tennis, table football, possibility of using the music service, computers in the PC room, art and handicraft workshop
  • events which are initiated by users - such as Miss, dance competition, competition in table tennis • concerts, sports tournaments, outgoing events (e.g. winter and summer camps)
  • preventive, educational and teaching programs (special programs created by the specific needs of target groups and locations, such as drug abuse prevention program, gambling prevention, prevention of sexual abuse)
  • discussion forums, compose programs

Tutoring and school activities (e.g., ceramics, drama club, creative circle, etc.) are provided within the service 'Social activation services for families with children, "according to § 65 of the Law on social services.
