Village coexistence project was inaugurated on September 17, 2002. This is a project implemented by Caritas Ostrava, in cooperation with the civic association of Life Together. In the village was built 30 residences for people affected by the floods of Silesian Ostrava in 1997. The building has accommodation for 10 Roma, 10 mixed, and 10 non-Roma families. The project is also known as community center - a multifunctional building for the implementation of long-term social welfare program. The total value of investment projects amounting to 66 million CZK. Approximately half of this amount was covered by the state and municipal grants, half in grants and contributions from foreign and domestic institutions. Inauguration ceremony was attended by notable representatives of the Czech government, local governments and individual donors of the project. Community center was blessed by Bishop František Václav Lobkowicz.

The construction, which followed a long period of seeking donations and investment training, started the foundation stone ceremony on October 11, 2000. In August 2001, construction had to be suspended for a temporary shortage of funds. Construction work started running again in March 2002. Construction was approved on August 15, 2002 and handed over for use on September 1, 2002. Building was designed by the company SPAN s.r.o. The main construction contractor was Bytostav – Poruba Company. Building was nominated for House of 2002 proclaimed the Statutory City of Ostrava.
